In addition to authoring this book, I’ve also established the podcast Year of the Vet, that I branded as #YearOfTheVet which focuses on providing resources and support for veterans embarking on their post-military journey. My dedication and efforts have been recognized, and I was honored with the title of Veteran of the Year. Continuing my commitment to serving the veteran community, I formerly assumed the role of Executive Director at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Department of California. Currently, I am the Commander of DAV Chapter 5, Los Angeles. We actively advocate for veterans’ rights and well-being.
Through Year Of The Vet , I provide a welcoming and supportive environment for veterans to share their experiences, both triumphs and setbacks, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual growth. My mission remains steadfast: to empower and uplift my fellow veterans as they navigate life beyond the military. Resilience and determination form the bedrock of my character today. I firmly believe that the most profound lessons emerge from adversity, and I embrace every facet of life as an opportunity for growth and enlightenment, both for myself and others. My faith in God, myself, and my capacity to achieve is unwavering.
While the outcome of any endeavor may be uncertain, I find the true essence of life in the struggle—the battle waged within our minds and hearts. This struggle has become the narrative of my existence. Through steadfast conviction in the axiom “where there’s a will, there’s a way,” I have attained numerous significant milestones. Since the publication of my book, I’ve connected with countless veterans who share similar narratives of hardship, identity loss, despair, confusion, and eventual triumph.
